n8n consultant, United States: n8n automation for American teams with work done while you sleep

Pakistan is nine to thirteen hours ahead of the American mainland, so a task you hand over at the end of your day can be finished and tested by your next morning. Live calls happen at the edges of your day.

  • Quoted in dollars, fixed price
  • HIPAA aware hosting choices
  • Workflows in your own account

Typical rates in this market

What automation work costs in the United States

I could not find a reliable public dataset of freelance n8n rates in the United States, so I do not quote one. What I can show is what an employee in the closest role costs, and what n8n charges on top.

These are market context, not my price. I quote a fixed price in dollars after a short call, for a defined scope, so you know the number before any work starts.

Working hours

Four mainland time zones, one handoff rhythm

I work from Pakistan on Pakistan Standard Time (PKT, UTC+5), which does not change for daylight saving. Here is how that lines up with your clock.

Where you areYour 9am is myMy 9am is your
New York, Boston, Atlanta, Miami (Eastern)6pm PKT, 7pm in winterMidnight, 11pm in winter
Chicago, Dallas, Austin, Houston (Central)7pm PKT, 8pm in winter11pm, 10pm in winter
Denver, Salt Lake City (Mountain)8pm PKT, 9pm in winter10pm, 9pm in winter
San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle (Pacific)9pm PKT, 10pm in winter9pm, 8pm in winter
  • Live calls sit at the start of an Eastern or Central day, or at the end of a Pacific one. I fix a standing slot with you at kickoff.
  • Everything else runs async: you leave the request in a shared doc or Slack channel, and the result is there with a short screen recording when you log on.
  • For a production incident I set up alerts that reach you directly, and the workflow fails safe rather than waiting for me.

Privacy and hosting

Privacy rules that shape a United States build

There is no single federal privacy law for most businesses. What applies depends on the data you handle and the states your customers live in.

  • State privacy laws

The California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, gives residents rights to know, delete and opt out, and requires contracts with service providers. Virginia, Colorado, Texas and a growing list of other states have their own versions. In practice I keep a record of which workflows touch personal data, so a deletion request can be honored across every system the flow writes to.

  • HIPAA and health data

Protected health information can only pass through vendors who sign a business associate agreement with you. The clean route is self hosting n8n inside an AWS account covered by your AWS BAA, with execution data kept short. Until that question is settled, I build against test data with identifiers removed.

  • Where the data sits

n8n Cloud keeps data in Frankfurt, Germany. If you need it on American soil, self hosting in an AWS region such as Ohio or Northern Virginia keeps workflows, credentials and execution logs in the country.

A starting point for a self hosted instance that handles health data. Retention follows your own policy.

The local stack

The American stack I connect most

Most builds for United States companies wire n8n into some mix of these.

  • HubSpot and Salesforce

Lead routing, enrichment, deal stage updates

  • QuickBooks Online

    Invoices, payments and reconciliation

  • Gusto

    Onboarding and payroll handoffs

  • Stripe

Billing events, failed payment follow up

  • ServiceTitan

Home service jobs, dispatch and reviews

  • Slack and Google Workspace

    Approvals, digests and alerts

City by city

What changes from city to city

I have no office in any of these cities. What differs is the industry mix and the local rules a workflow has to respect.

  • New York

Finance, legal and real estate firms with document heavy intake. The New York SHIELD Act requires reasonable safeguards for residents’ private information, so encryption and access logs are part of the build, not an extra.

  • Austin, Dallas and Houston

Home services, energy and healthcare groups running field teams. The Texas Data Privacy and Security Act covers most businesses that handle Texans’ data, and Central time sits only one hour further from me than Eastern.

  • San Francisco and Los Angeles

SaaS companies and agencies with Stripe, HubSpot and product analytics in the mix. CCPA applies, and a Pacific evening is my morning, which suits a daily async loop.

  • Chicago

Logistics, manufacturing and professional services. Illinois’ biometric privacy law is strict, so any workflow near fingerprints, face data or voiceprints gets reviewed before it is built.

How a build runs

How a remote build runs for an American team

The steps suit a team that is asleep while I work.

  1. Kickoff call

Scope at the start of your day

One call in your morning to walk the process and agree what done looks like. I send the written scope and fixed price the same night your time.

You get: Scope, price and a shared channel for async updates.

  2. Access

    Credentials without passwords in chat

You create scoped API keys or invite me to the instance. Health or financial data waits until the BAA and hosting questions are answered.

You get: A list of every credential the workflows use and who owns it.

  3. Overnight builds

    Build while you are offline

Each morning you find a short recorded demo of what changed and a list of questions for you. You answer when it suits you.

You get: Daily progress you can review in five minutes.

  4. Go live

Switch on during your business hours

Production cutover happens at the start of your day so your team is there if a real case behaves oddly, with alerts routed to your Slack.

You get: Live workflows, handover video and exported JSON in your repo.

Fit check

Is a remote n8n consultant right for your team?

A good fit when

  • You are comfortable with async updates and one or two scheduled calls a week.
  • Your team uses mainstream SaaS tools with APIs, such as HubSpot, QuickBooks or Stripe.
  • You want the price agreed in dollars before work starts.
  • You need HIPAA or state privacy questions handled in the design, not after launch.

Not the right call when

  • You need someone in your office or on a same day call at any hour.
  • Your contract requires the contractor to be a United States person or entity.
  • The work involves classified or export controlled data.

Questions

What people ask before a build starts

Yes. I work remotely, with a fixed price agreed in dollars, written scope, and async updates that fit the gap between your clock and mine.
