The short answer
A zero click search is one where the searcher gets what they need from the results page itself, such as a featured answer or an AI summary, and never visits a website. AI answers have made this pattern more common.

Why Zero Click Search matters
Visibility can now happen without a visit, so clicks alone understate how often your brand is seen. It also means the answer has to name you, not only link to you.
How to measure or use it
Compare impressions and clicks in Search Console, follow branded search and direct visits over time, and log how often your brand appears in answers on the question panel.
How I handle it
I do not treat falling clicks as proof of failure. I check whether citations and branded demand moved, then decide what to change.

Zero Click Search questions
Is zero click bad for business?
Not always. If the answer names you accurately, the buyer arrives later already convinced, often by searching your name.
How do I get value from it?
Make sure the answer names your brand correctly, and make the next step obvious for the people who do click.
